Mgr. Lenka Matějková

Lenka has been mayor for more than two years and, as she says herself, she sees working for the municipality as a calling. Her command of legislation and administration, which comes with her law degree, is a real asset in the job. Empathy, a willingness to listen and a determination to find common ground are her strengths. Over the past two years she and the other ŽIJME SPOLEČNĚ councillors have set a number of positive changes in motion: a more professional municipal office, better information for residents and greater openness towards them, and a real effort to act on what they raise. From the start of her term she has tried to keep every part of our growing municipality and every generation of residents in mind, and she takes an active part in meetings with the local committees as well as in children's and community events.

In the coming term she wants to finish the projects under way and keep improving the services the municipality provides. Her priorities are clear: working with the new leadership of the primary school and nursery to build a school that is known for the quality of its teaching and that children are glad to go to and parents trust; strengthening community life in every part of the municipality by building and developing community centres and public spaces where neighbours can meet; widening the range of active leisure on offer for children of every age and for adults alike; and meeting the social-care needs of our older residents.
